Description

A quick and flavorful beef ramen stir-fry that is perfect for a weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • ¼ cup hoisin sauce
  • ¼ cup mirin
  • 12 ounces ramen noodles, (seasoning packet discarded)
  • 1 tablespoon canola oil
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • ½ medium yellow onion, (diced (about ½ cup))
  • 2 teaspoons garlic, (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, (grated)
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
  • 2 green onions, (thinly sliced, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together crushed red pepper flakes, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, and mirin until smooth. Set aside.
  2. Cook the noodles according to package instructions. (If using instant ramen, discard the flavor packet.) Drain well and set aside.
  3. To a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the canola oil. Once hot and shimmering, add the ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a spatula, until fully browned, 8 to 10 minutes. Drain excess grease if needed.
  4. Add the diced onion to the skillet and cook until softened and lightly golden, about 3 to 4 minutes.
  5. Stir in the garlic and ginger and cook for 30 more seconds.
  6. Pour in the prepared sauce and stir to coat the beef and onions evenly.
  7. Add the cooked noodles and toss until everything is well coated and heated through.
  8. Drizzle with toasted sesame oil and toss once more.
  9. Garnish with sliced green onions before serving.
