Description

Delicious strawberry cream puffs filled with whipped cream and topped with strawberries.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Red food coloring (optional)
  • Fresh strawberries (for topping)
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • White chocolate (for drizzling)
  • Additional whipped cream (for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Make the Choux Pastry:

    • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
    • In a medium saucepan, bring water, butter, and salt to a boil over medium heat.
    • Remove from heat and quickly add the flour. Stir until the mixture forms a ball and pulls away from the sides.
    • Allow to cool slightly.
    • Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add red food coloring to achieve desired hue.
    • Spoon or pipe the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, forming small mounds.
    • Bake for 20-25 minutes or until puffs are golden brown. Cool on a wire rack.
  2. Prepare the Cream Filling:

    • In a large bowl, whip heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
    • Once puffs are cooled, slice in half and fill each with whipped cream.
  3. Assemble the Dessert:

    • Melt white chocolate and drizzle over cream puffs.
    • Pipe additional whipped cream on top of the puffs and garnish each with a fresh strawberry.

Notes

  • Make sure the pastry dough cools before adding eggs to prevent them from cooking.
  • For extra flavor, you can add a dash of strawberry extract to the cream filling.
  • Ensure the cream puffs are completely cooled before filling to prevent melting the cream.
