Description

A fun and spooky Halloween-themed spaghetti dish that will delight both kids and adults!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 400g spaghetti
  • 12 pieces meatballs (pre-cooked or homemade)
  • 2 cups tomato sauce
  • 12 small mozzarella cheese balls (bocconcini)
  • 6 black olives (sliced into rings)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 small onion (finely chopped)
  • Fresh parsley (for garnish)
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Spaghetti:
    • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
    • Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Prepare the Sauce:
    • In a large pan, heat olive oil over medium heat.
    • Add minced garlic and chopped onion, sauté until fragrant and translucent.
    • Stir in the tomato sauce and let it simmer for about 10 minutes.
    • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Assemble the Spooky Eyes:
    • Place a mozzarella cheese ball within each meatball.
    • Insert a black olive ring on top of each cheese ball to mimic an eyeball.
  4. Combine and Serve:
    • Add the cooked spaghetti to the tomato sauce and toss until well coated.
    • Form small nests of spaghetti on a serving dish.
    • Place a meatball “eyeball” in the center of each spaghetti nest.
    • Garnish with fresh parsley.

Notes

  • Use fresh basil or oregano in the tomato sauce for added flavor.
  • For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes to the sauce.
  • You can use different types of pasta for variation, such as linguine or fettuccine.
  • If using store-bought meatballs, warm them up before assembling.
