Description

Delicious savory stuffed pancakes made with mashed potatoes and filled with a savory ground beef mixture, perfect as a main dish or snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large potatoes
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Potatoes:
    • Peel and boil the potatoes until tender.
    • Drain and mash them in a large bowl.
    • Mix in flour, eggs, salt, and black pepper until you get a smooth dough.
  2. Prepare the Filling:
    • In a frying pan, heat some oil over medium heat.
    • Add chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté until golden.
    • Add ground beef and cook until browned.
    • Season with soy sauce, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
    • Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
    • Mix in the shredded cheese.
  3. Assemble the Pancakes:
    • Divide the potato dough into small equal portions.
    • Flatten each portion into a small pancake.
    • Place a spoonful of the beef filling in the center.
    • Fold and seal the edges, shaping them back into a pancake.
  4. Cook the Pancakes:
    • Heat vegetable oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
    • Fry each pancake for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
    • Drain on paper towels.
  5. Serve:
    • Garnish with fresh parsley.
    • Serve hot as a main dish or snack.

Notes

  • Ensure the mashed potatoes are completely cooled before adding the eggs to prevent them from cooking prematurely.
  • Adjust the seasoning in the beef mixture to taste, adding more spices if desired.
  • Use a non-stick skillet to prevent sticking and ensure even cooking.
  • For extra flavor, add chopped herbs like dill or thyme to the potato dough.
