Description

This delicious pan-seared tilapia is served with a creamy roasted red pepper sauce, perfect for a quick weeknight dinner.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 fillets tilapia
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (divided)
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 0 tsp ground cumin
  • salt and black pepper (to taste)
  • 1 small onion (chopped)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 cup roasted red peppers
  • 0 cup vegetable or chicken broth
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp honey or maple syrup (optional)

Instructions

  1. Season tilapia fillets with salt, pepper, smoked paprika, and cumin.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet and cook tilapia 3–4 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
  3. Sauté onion in the same skillet until soft, then add garlic.
  4. Add roasted peppers and broth, simmer 5 minutes.
  5. Blend sauce until smooth, then return to skillet.
  6. Stir in lemon juice and honey, adjust seasoning.
  7. Return tilapia to sauce and simmer 3–5 minutes.

Notes

  • This dish pairs well with rice or crusty bread to soak up the sauce.
  • Feel free to add additional spices to the sauce for extra flavor.
