Description

A delicious and creamy one-skillet dish featuring chicken, orzo pasta, sun-dried tomatoes, and a rich sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 1/2 cup sun-dried tomatoes (chopped)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 1/2 cups chicken broth
  • 3 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • to taste salt
  • to taste black pepper

Instructions

  1. Season chicken with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  2. Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear chicken on both sides until golden and nearly cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and sauté garlic until fragrant.
  4. Stir in sun-dried tomatoes and red pepper flakes.
  5. Pour in chicken broth and heavy cream, scraping the pan to deglaze.
  6. Add Parmesan cheese and stir until melted and sauce slightly thickens.
  7. Add orzo pasta to the skillet and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 8–10 minutes or until tender.
  8. Return chicken to the skillet and cook for another 5–7 minutes until fully cooked and well combined.
  9. Garnish with more Parmesan and fresh herbs if desired.
  10. Serve warm.
