Ingredients

- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil (optional)
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, garlic, ginger, and rice vinegar over medium heat until the sugar is fully dissolved.
- Let the sauce simmer gently for 3–5 minutes to develop flavor.
- Mix cornstarch and water in a small bowl to form a slurry.
- Slowly whisk the slurry into the simmering sauce and stir until thickened, about 1–2 minutes.
- Add sesame oil if using, then remove from heat and let cool slightly before serving or storing.
