Description
A quick and flavorful shrimp dish infused with garlic and lemon.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 lemon, sliced
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- Lemon wedges, for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare the Shrimp: Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.
- Marinate: In a bowl, combine the shrimp, minced garlic, olive oil, paprika, salt, and pepper. Toss well to coat and let it sit for 10 minutes.
- Preheat Pan: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add 1 tablespoon of butter and let it melt.
- Cook Shrimp: Add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer without crowding. Cook the shrimp for about 2-3 minutes on one side until pink, then flip them.
- Add Butter and Lemon: Add the remaining butter and lemon slices to the skillet. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the shrimp are opaque and the sauce has thickened a bit.
- Final Touches: Sprinkle fresh parsley over the shrimp and give a quick stir. Remove from heat.
- Serve: Transfer the shrimp to a serving dish. Serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side for squeezing over the top.
Notes
- Shrimp Size: Opt for large shrimp for a meatier texture.
- Butter Clarification: Clarify the butter to prevent burning by melting and skimming off the milk solids if preferred.
- Herbs: Add a touch of other herbs like thyme or basil for extra flavor variation.
- Wine: A splash of white wine can be added before the lemon for a richer sauce.
- Garlic Intensity: Adjust garlic amount based on preference for milder or bolder flavor.
