Description

A delicious dessert combining chocolate cake, fresh strawberries, vanilla cream, and chocolate ganache.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1/4 cup strawberry jam
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven & Prepare Pan
    • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
    • Line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Make the Chocolate Cake Base
    • In a bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
    • In another bowl, mix melted butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla, and blend well.
    • Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until combined.
    • Pour the batter into the lined baking pan and spread evenly.
    • Bake for 20-25 minutes. Let it cool completely.
  3. Prepare the Vanilla Cream
    • Whip heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
  4. Assemble the Layers
    • Spread strawberry jam evenly over the cooled chocolate cake base.
    • Layer sliced strawberries over the jam.
    • Spread vanilla cream over the strawberry layer.
  5. Make the Chocolate Ganache
    • Heat cream in a saucepan until simmering. Remove from heat and add chocolate chips.
    • Let sit for 5 minutes, then stir until smooth.
    • Pour the ganache over the vanilla cream layer and spread evenly.
  6. Chill and Serve
    • Refrigerate the cake for at least 2 hours until set.
    • Before serving, garnish with fresh strawberries and drizzle with chocolate syrup.
