Description

Deliciously crunchy toffee made with Saltine crackers and chocolate.


Ingredients

  • 1 package Saltine Crackers
  • 1 cup Unsalted Butter
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar
  • 2 cups Chocolate Chips
  • 1 cup Chopped Nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Prepare your baking sheet by lining it with foil or parchment paper and arrange the crackers.
  3. Melt the unsalted butter in a saucepan over medium heat, then add brown sugar and whisk until combined, bringing it to a gentle boil for about 3 minutes.
  4. Pour the hot toffee mixture over the saltine crackers and spread evenly with a spatula.
  5. Bake for 5 minutes in the preheated oven, then turn off the oven.
  6. Sprinkle chocolate chips over the hot toffee, then return to the turned-off oven for an additional 2 minutes.
  7. Spread the melted chocolate with a spatula; optionally sprinkle with chopped nuts.
  8. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour to harden, then break into pieces and enjoy.
