Description
Delicious homemade chocolate chip cookies with a rich, buttery flavor.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups chocolate chips
Instructions
- Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring often, until it foams and turns golden brown with a nutty aroma. Remove from the heat and let it cool slightly.
- Pour the browned butter into a large mixing bowl and whisk in the brown sugar and granulated sugar until smooth.
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract, then whisk until the mixture looks glossy and fully combined.
- In a separate bowl, stir together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix just until a soft dough forms.
- Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
- Chill the dough for 20 to 30 minutes for thicker cookies and better flavor.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Scoop the dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving space between each cookie.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, until the edges are golden and the centers still look slightly soft.
- Let the cookies rest on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- Chilling the dough improves the flavor and texture of the cookies.
- For thicker cookies, chill the dough for the full 30 minutes.
