Can I use boneless chicken thighs?

Absolutely! Boneless chicken thighs work wonderfully in this recipe. They cook faster than bone-in varieties, so reduce the cooking time slightly to keep them juicy and tender.

What sides pair well with jerk chicken?

The bold flavors of jerk chicken create a feast for the senses, so it’ll pair beautifully with sides that can balance or complement its spiciness. Consider serving:

  • Coconut rice or rice and peas
  • Grilled vegetables for a touch of char
  • A fresh mango salsa for a sweet contrast
  • Simple coleslaw to provide a crunchy texture

Each of these sides enhances the enjoyment of your jerk chicken!

How to adjust the heat in jerk chicken?

The heat level in Air Fryer Jerk Chicken Thighs can be easily adjusted. If you prefer a milder flavor, reduce the amount of scotch bonnet pepper or substitute it with a milder pepper. Conversely, for more heat, increase the amount of spice or marinate longer.

Can I marinate the chicken for longer?

Yes! Marinating the chicken thighs for an extended period—up to 24 hours—deepens the flavors. Just be mindful that marinating too long can make the meat a bit mushy, so keep it within that time frame for the best taste and texture.
